Barbie and The Real Advent Calendar

Barbie and The Real Advent Calendar

Barbie has been the summer hit of the year. Back in 2011, I was in a supermarket and saw a Barbie Advent calendar on sale. It was 99 pence and Barbie was on the cover. Three things struck me-how could it be so cheap - what had Barbie got to do with Christmas and if all you got was a Barbie calendar every year what would you think Christmas was about?

Then I saw surveys showing that 36% of 5-7 year olds did not know whose birthday was celebrated at Christmas and 51% of adults said that the birth of Jesus was irrelevant to their Christmas.

I asked myself, "Surely there was a place for an ethical Advent Calendar which shared the story of Christmas with families?" And that is how the Real Advent Calendar came to be created.

We approach leading artists to illustrate the Christmas story books which come with each calendar and our first calendar was launched in 2013. Ten years on we have sold more than 1 million calendars with more than 3 million people experiencing the Christmas story through a Real Advent Calendar.

Supermarkets are not stocking our goods so our online shop is the only place where you can buy our full range.

Details of our full Christmas range can be found here.

Prices held - our lowest price - free delivery

Despite inflation we have held the prices of our calendars plus there is free delivery for each Advent Calendar case bought. Calendars cost £4.50 and come in cases of 18. You can also buy single calendars and add other items from our Christmas range to your basket with free delivery*.

Thanks for your support.
