The 2018 Real Advent Calendar - 10% off with free resources and competition
The 2018 Real Advent Calendar is a great way for schools to start preparing for Christmas. There is also free access to assembly resources for Primary and Secondary schools and a prize competition which you can read about below.
Features and free resources
The Real Advent Calendar is the UK’s only Fairtrade Advent calendar which comes with a free Christmas Story-Advent activity book which has a page for every day in Advent. There is a line of the Christmas story behind every window. It’s a great way for classes to count down to Christmas or they make for great competition prizes. The chocolate itself is a creamy Fairtrade blend and the whole calendar is foiled to ensure that the chocolate remains fresh. Free online assembly resources will be available here from October.
Special 10% offer (20th October deadline)
Each calendar usually costs £3.99 but schools can receive a 10% education discount with free delivery which reduces the price to £3.60. To qualify you need to order a minimum of 2 cases (18 calendars per case) and orders need to be placed by 20th October. Stocks are limited so we advise ordering as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com
Advent Competition 2018
To celebrate the launch of the 2018 Real Advent Calendar a special competition is being held. The challenge is for young people to design the front of an Advent Calendar with the theme of ‘Follow the Star’.
Who can enter and prizes
The competition is open to primary schools, secondary schools, and Sunday schools/Messy Church/youth groups such as Guides or Boys’ Brigade. There are three first prizes of £150 in each category and three runners-up prizes of £50. Cheques for £150 and £50 will be made to the nominated group and all winners and runners-up will receive a box of our Fairtrade Christmas crackers and tree decorations.
All entries must be completed on A4 paper. We only need to see the picture so don’t worry about doors and numbers. On the back of each entry you need to indicate the name and age of the child, title of the school/church/group and a contact number. The contact number should be that of the school or leader of the group only and not the child.
Winning entries must arrive by 5pm on Monday 19th November. Winners will be notified by 22nd November. Entries should be sent to MCC Basement Suite, 11a Eagle Brow, Lymm, Cheshire, WA13 0LP.
We regret that we will be unable to return posters or to receive entries via email.
The competition is open to all children but limited to one entry per person.
Results will be announced online.
How the Real Advent Calendar makes a real difference
Every year we make donations to charity from sales of the calendar. Over the past four years, with the support of schools and churches of all denominations, we have given away more than £54,000 to charitable causes from the Advent Calendars alone. Money raised from this year’s calendar will help The Funzi and Bodo Trust provide more than 600,000 eggs a year to feed children in Kenya, buy books for schools and supply medicines. We are also proud to promote the work of Traidcraft Exchange. You can read about the work of the Funzi and Bodo trust here http://www.funzi.org.uk/
