We will be donating about £7,200 to the Funzi and Bodo Trust from this year's sales of Advent calendars. We also pay a percentage of our profit to the Fairtrade Foundation to support their work and we pay our farmers an additional cash premium for their chocolate and sugar. This year we were also able to donate to the Trussell Trust.

We have now chosen the winners  for our annual children's competition. This year the task was to design the cover for an Advent Calendar.

Egg donations

With more than £200,000 raised for good causes so far, here is our recent cheque handover for Real Easter Eggs sold in 2016. The Real Easter Egg helped raise a further £3,000 which are not included on this cheque. We are very proud that we are the UK's only Fairtrade charity Easter Egg and that the money we donate goes to help Traidcraft Exchange.  Every egg we sell also contributes to the Fairtrade Premium which benefits those who grow our sugar and chocolate.  Our final order deadline is 4pm on 10th April 2017.

Cathedrals and smaller museums lead the way in Fairtrade Tourism chocolate

This Fairtrade Fortnight it has been revealed that Elizabeth Gaskell's House Museum, near Manchester, is part of a group of visitor attractions which are leading led the way by switching their souvenir chocolate bars to Fairtrade. Many tourist attractions have a shop selling souvenir chocolate bars with a picture of the attraction on the wrapper. Back in 2014 The Meaningful Chocolate Company could not find a single tourist attraction which was using certified Fairtrade chocolate for their souvenir bars. Working with the Fairtrade Foundation the company developed a fast track way of providing the UK's first Fairtrade Belgian chocolate souvenir...

The egg that shares the Easter story in 2017 The new look Real Easter Egg 2017 range has been launched and churches are being asked to encourage people to support this unique way of sharing the story of Easter. This year a 24 page Easter story-activity book illustrated by Alida Massari is included in the Original, Egg Hunt and Dark eggs. The Special Edition has an Easter traditions booklet inside.
