Competition winners announced

We are delighted to announce the winning entries for our 2024 Real Advent Calendar competition. Our challenge was to design a Christmas card with the theme of The Star over Bethlehem. All the winners will receive their book token prizes. Thank you to all who took part.

Senior Winner

Our senior winner was this picture by Joanna , aged 14. We loved the mixture of scripture with the beautiful design as an almost snowflake like star illuminates the sky.

Junior Winner

Our Junior winner was this picture by Mariia, aged 10.  A massive star dominates the scene with a loving heart at its centre. In the background, the shepherds and the wise men make their way to Jesus.

5 and under Winner

Our 5 and under winner was this picture by James, aged 4.  A big star shines bright and a list of words sums up the gift that the Father gives us in Jesus.

Senior Runner ups

Our first senior runner up was this picture by Samuel, aged 13. It is a beautifully drawn picture in which every character, including the animals, is happy and joyful as a beautiful star shines overhead.

Our second senior runner up was this picture by Anna, aged 14. We loved the sense of movement and journey in this picture. The star of Bethlehem is like a massive firework amongst the other stars and we loved the use of colour and shadow.

Junior Runner ups

Our first Junior runner up was this picture by Isla, aged 7. The use of black and the blue background is very atmospheric . The golden star shines in contrast to the beautifully shaded colours of night time in Bethlehem.

Our second Junior runner up was this picture by Hannah, aged 7. The star shines brightly over Bethlehem while we also see an angel appear to the shepherds and some particularly sleepy sheep.

5 and Under Runner ups

Our first 5 and under up was this picture by Fraser, aged 4.  In an intimate picture the star of Bethlehem shines in the darkness illuminating the Light of the World as He sleeps in the manger,

Our second under 5 runner up was this picture by Ruth, aged 4. Lots of colour and bright details paint a joy filled picture of the nativity as the star moves overhead to bring us all to Jesus.
